E3 Blogged

To all I met at E3: I want to thank you all for helping me have a great E3 this year. This year has been the best so far because I've met so many great people and shared the experience with so many. I look forward to keeping in contact with everyone and seeing you all next year!

Final note: I still have a lot to post on my blog so keep tabs on it over the next few days.

I miss E3

Man... I haven't been on spaces forever and a day!!!  Since shortly after last E3 no less.   I miss E3, this time last year I was running around scheduling interviews, finalizing travel and lodging details, and more. This year, I'm sitting at my desk at my day job and my game site has pretty much gone under.  Maybe I'll revamp it and start again.  I miss it, but it takes a lot of time, which I don't have now.

GamerSurvival.com is looking for writers!

That’s right! This site that I’ve tried to do as much as I can with a small ammount of time is growing pretty fast and with some of the ideas I have, I need more help. So, starting today I’m searching for writers for Gamersurvival.com.  You don’t have to an english major to write here, but solid skills are a plus. Here’s the info:

  • This is not a high paying position! This site is growing, but it’s growing due to the content, not money. It will involve free games when they come in for review and than payment based off of content effects on the site
  • Must have a grasp on basic writing skills
  • Must be over 18
  • Must have at least one console in order to review games
  • Have a passion for gaming
  • IMPORTANT: Be able to have fun with what you’re writing.  I’m looking for people who can give quality information and still enjoy writing it. (Even some humor in the writing is a plus.)

So, if you think you can meet those criteria please send an email to admin@gamersurvival.com with 3 sample writings and a little background of your gaming experience.  If you don’t have any, pick some of the recent game news and write some. (Doesn’t have to be something I’ve written about.)

Vote for me?

This is from Trixie's Blog:

Who Blogged Better?
Now that E3 is over, it's time to check up on our official Xbox.com E3 Bloggers. Who supplied great content? Who updated frequently? Who just slacked off on the Blogger Bus?

Take a look at all twelve MSN Spaces sites and let us know who gets your vote for best E3 blogger. No, they won't win anything...but YOU might.*

One random respondent will win 1600 MS Points. Send your feedback in email to xlmail@microsoft.com, subject: E3 Bloggers. Please include your gamertag and hometown.

*MS Points are region-specific. If you are from outside the US and I draw your name, I'll send you an Xbox 360 t-shirt instead.

If you read my blog and enjoyed, I'd appreciate your vote as well as wish you luck in winning the points.  So you all know I still have a bunch of E3 stuff to post. I'll be doing that ASAP.

Thanks!

Video Recap So Far

Coming Soon:

  •  Pirates of the Caribean: Legend of Jack Sparrow - A developer goes through a level of the game and gives comments on gameplay and features.
  • Video from Nintendo's Wii Booth
  • Nintendo Press conference highlight video
  • a few more videos

Look for those and more over the next day or two. (so I can edit them)

Hands on: Wii Impressions

Well, I finally got my hands on the Wii last friday. Allthough, I had to pull some strings to get into the booth without waiting four hours. I got to play two different games: Wario Ware and Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkachi 2.

Wario Ware

The Wario game was just like all the others... Quick 5 second games that you can't seem to break yourself away from.  Now, in the Wii adaptation of this game you are instructed to hold the controller a specific way and perform a certain action in order to complete the level.  In the DS and Cube versions, it was a simple step of pushing buttions or moving the ds stylus. Warioware, if played continuously, seems that it would be a good exercise from doing squats, blanacing a "broom", and even slicing a barrel in half.  This game is a great party game and will keep people entertained for hours.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkachi 2

The new DBZ game was pretty entertaining.  The controls were mixed between buttion combonations, simple controller motion for punching, and specific hand motions to control your special abilities. One in particular was the good ol "kame hame ha." If you're familiar with the DBZ series you see that when Goku and others perform this move, their hands move a specific way. Well, on the Wii, you have to move your hands the same way!  While it takes some time to get used to the controls, so far, this game is looking to be very promising!

Sorry all... I couldn't get my hands on any of the popular Nintendo series games, but I do have video and I'll be posting it all tonight.
